Mixed media, 12x36"
When I saw this storm approaching, I knew it would become something fierce. This bully cloud literally lifted all other clouds out of its way, shepherding a hail storm that would leave more than $1 billion of damages in its wake.
I spent nearly six months working on this painting. I started with a layer of acrylic to establish the lights and darks. From there, I built up glazes of oil paints to create the depth and luminosity that I needed to convey the energy of this storm.
